Deportation
Monday July 28, a commemorative ceremony will be held at 5:30 pm at the monument honouring the deportation of Acadian people, le Grand Dérangement, on the banks of the Petitcodiac river in Dieppe.
In 2005 Canada began to mark the date Governor Charles Lawrence signed the order to deport the Acadian population in 1755. The ceremony will be primarily in French. Located behind A&W on Main Street, David-Roger Gagnon invites you to attend in solidarity.
Bring flowers to place at the monument and a small bell to ring at 5:55 pm. For additional info David-Roger has shared a BOOKLET here (English) here (French), as well as a more comprehensive GUIDE here (English) here (French).
